Chrome extension found to be stealing users' Bitcoin

Bitstamp pointed out that the website provides users with Bitcoin to US dollar services, and the extension mentioned above contains malicious code, which will redirect the payment page to its own Bitcoin website and then take the user's Bitcoin for itself.

Devon Weller, a Bitcoin website software developer, confirmed Bitstamp 's findings. Weller pointed out that the extension secretly replaced its own QR code. QR code is one of the confirmation methods for users to transfer or pay for Bitcoin or exchange transactions.
